Senior Project Manager
A government body responsible for safety, environmental protection, and national emergency response efforts is seeking a skilled Senior Project Manager - Applications. This organisation plays a crucial role in managing national safety protocols and collaborating with authorities to maintain public safety and sustainability.
You will be responsible for delivering enterprise-wide digital initiatives, including the Enterprise Digital Capabilities and Integration Platform projects. Working closely with the CIO, IT Managers, and key stakeholders, you will oversee the implementation of COTS (Cost-off-the-shelf applications such as Microsoft Office, Adobe, etc.) and bespoke applications, ensuring successful project execution and alignment with business objectives.
The Role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will:
- Lead project planning, execution, and reporting to meet agreed standards and timelines.
- Manage project risks, escalate issues, and coordinate resources across multiple teams.
- Develop key project documentation, including business cases, project plans, and closure reports.
- Drive project procurement activities, including RFQs, tenders, and evaluations.
- Establish and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to ensure project success.
- Guide project-related change management and communication strategies.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Strong experience delivering IT and digital transformation projects.
- Proven ability to manage project scope, risks, and resources in complex environments.
- Expertise in stakeholder engagement and business change management.
- Experience with COTS (Cost-off-the-shelf) and bespoke application implementations.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are highly desirable.

- Hybrid working model – ideally based in Canberra, but candidates from other states will be considered.
- Must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain Baseline security clearance.
